FATAL CRASH IN PULASKI COUNTY EARLY THURSDAY

Pulaski County Deputies responded to a fatal collision early Thursday morning, just before 2am on KY Highway 90.

Investigators say the driver, Johnny Louis Curtis, age 57, of Montgomery, Michigan, was operating a tractor-trailer westbound when he lost control and overturned. Mr. Curtis was entrapped in the cab of the truck and had to be extricated by first responders.

Mr. Curtis was flown from the scene by Air Methods to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment.

Also in the vehicle was his wife, Lynne Marie Curtis, age 64, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner.

A dog was located in the vehicle and was removed from the scene by Pulaski
County Animal Control.

Deputies say the driver may have avoided or struck an object lying in the road. Found at the scene were an engine block, two push mowers, a small John Deere pull-type trailer, and other items. These items look like they may have fallen from another vehicle or pull-type utility trailer.

Sheriff Greg Speck is asking for any business or resident that has video cameras to check around 2am to see if they can identify any vehicle that may have been carrying that type of load. Even if businesses and residents who are not in that area could check their cameras because you never know which direction this vehicle may have come from.

Anyone having any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 606-678-5145. You do not have to give your name.

This accident remains under investigation by Deputy Ryan Jones with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
