FLOODING REPORTED IN CASEY COUNTY MONDAY WITH MORE RAIN EXPECTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY

Heavy rains caused some problems in Casey County yesterday.

Floodwaters entered businesses in Liberty and caused some roads to close.

Campbellsville Road right near downtown is one of the worst trouble spots with water over the roadway. Most of that receded late yesterday evening, but it left behind debris and rock.

Casey County Emergency Management director Rick Wesley says several roads were impassable at one point— parts of Woodrum Ridge, Highway 49, and Bryant Ridge— were all covered with water.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 8pm this evening with more thunder storms expected today.

We could see an additional 2-3 inches of rainfall today.
