A Danville man arrested on drug charges Wednesday following a police pursuit.
Boyle Co. Sheriff's Department K9 Deputy Abbott attempted to traffic stop a white Chevy truck on Alum Springs Road in the Parksville community. The driver refused to stop and turned onto Yates Road, where an off duty Mercer County Deputy was able to block the truck.
After a brief scuffle, deputies pulled the driver from the truck and into custody. The driver was identified as 40 year old Justin S. Cooper of Danville. During the arrest Methamphetamine, Heroin, distribution bags and scales were found in Cooper’s possession.
Cooper was charged with Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Careless Driving, Driving on DUI Suspended License, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession Drug Unspecified, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Promoting Contraband.
He's lodged in the Boyle Co. Jail.
Mercer Co. Deputy Gaddis assisted.
