A Lexington man is arrested on numerous charges after leading police on a pursuit that ended in Lincoln County.

Authorities were in pursuit of a vehicle in Berea in the early morning hours Tuesday, in regards to an active kidnapping. Officers tried to stop the suspect in another county, but he led officers on a chase into Lincoln County.

Stanford Police said the chase ended when the suspect got out of his vehicle and fired at officers. Police returned fire and were able to get the victim to safety.

54 year old David Wilson ran on foot after the shooting. Police say he tried to break into a residence but the homeowner was armed. Wilson took off again. He was eventually located in a house under construction and taken into custody.

Wilson is lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Felony Parole Violation, Driving on a DUI Suspended License-3rd Offense (Aggravator), DUI, Fleeing/Evading Police-1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree, Burglary-1st/3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, & Assault-3rd Degree (Police Officer).
