Troopers chased a stolen car in a high speed pursuit Thursday.
Kentucky State Police attempted a traffic stop on I-75 South near the 72 mile marker in Rockcastle County just after 1pm.
The driver continued a high rate of speed, before taking Exit 62 in Mount Vernon. While traveling on KY-461, the vehicle drove in the oncoming lane of traffic, that's when Troopers disabled the car.
The driver, 44 year old James N. Small, of Berea, his passenger, and the KSP Trooper were transported to Rockcastle Co. Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where they were treated and released.
James Small was lodged in the Rockcastle County Jail on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking U/$500, Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, No Operator’s License, No Insurance, and No Registration.
Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police, and Rockcastle County EMS also responded.
