Pulaski County is one of seven rural utilities to receive $16.6 million in federal loans and grants for water improvement projects, Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kentucky State Director Hilda Legg, made the announcement Thursday.
Legg says the grants come from the federal USDA water and waste disposal loan and grant program.
The grants and projects include:
- Southeastern Water Association, Inc. – This Rural Development investment ($500,000 loan/$110,000 grant) will be used to complete the replacement of aging, undersized waterlines and three booster pump stations. Another pump station will be upgraded in Pulaski County.
Other areas receiving funds include:
- City of Caneyville in Grayson County
- Levee Road Water Association – in Montgomery County
- Montgomery Co. Water District #1
- City of Lancaster in Garrard County
- Laurel County Water District No. 2
- City of Auburn in Logan County
