A beloved local Fire Chief has died.

A post on the Brush Creek Volunteer Fire Department's social media page says: 

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our Chief Gale Scott. Chief Scott was loved and respected by all in our community and surrounding counties.

Gale was also an active member with the Liberty Fire Department, and with Liberty-Casey County Rescue Squad.

We ask that you keep the Scott family, Brush Creek Fire Department, Liberty Fire Department, Liberty-Casey County Rescue Squad and Emergency Service Community of Casey County in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
