ARMED PULASKI MAN THREATENS PEOPLE & POLICE

A Pulaski County man is behind bars after authorities say he threatened people with a rifle, then ran from Deputies.

Sheriff Greg Speck says 33 year old Carl Mark Wells, of Somerset, was arrested around 11pm Monday night on Hilltop Drive in Nancy.

Deputy Alex Wesley responded to a call of a man armed with a .22 rifle threatening people
and police. When units arrived, they located Mr. Wells inside, destroying property. Deputies say Wells fled out the back door into a wooded area. He was later located in a creek laying in the water. Mr. Wells resisted the Deputies trying to make the arrest, but he was finally placed into a cruiser. He continued to make threats toward the police that had responded.

Mr. Wells is charged with:
• Wanton Endangerment, 2nd Degree – Police Officer
• Fleeing and Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
• Criminal Mischief, 2nd Degree
• Terroristic Threatening, 2nd Degree
• Disorderly Conduct, 2nd Degree
• Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place (1st and 2nd Offense)

Wells also had a warrant on him for a Probation Violation in Leslie Circuit Court and a Bench Warrant out of Lincoln Court for Failure to Appear.

Mr. Wells was lodged in the Pulaski County Jail.
