The Casey County Sheriff's Office is taking preventative measures to reduce potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Casey County. These measures will help to ensure police services to the residents of Casey County throughout this time. We must strive to take measures to protect our staff so that we can continue to serve and protect our community.

Most of our staff is in the low-risk category as far as serious health risk from COVID-19. However, we are at high risk as carriers due to the amount of contact we have with the public, especially the elderly.

Please be aware of the following:

~If you have not paid your taxes, please consider paying them over the phone (606-787-6821) by credit or debit, or mailing them to the Casey County Sheriff's Office, PO Box 100, Liberty, KY 42539.

~If you have applied for renewal of your CCDW license and your current license is not expired, please wait to come in and pick up your new license for 2-3 weeks.

~If you need to file a complaint and had planned on coming into the Sheriff's Office in person, call and ask to speak to a deputy by phone instead.

~If you want to make a non-emergency complaint, ask to have a deputy call you. It is not always necessary to file a report in person. (Dispatch 606-787-9411)

~When a deputy responds to your home, please step outside and talk to him to allow them to follow social distancing protocols of 6 feet.

~Deputies are sanitizing their patrol vehicles frequently during assigned shifts.

~Additional cleaning precautions have been implemented in the Sheriff's Office as well as the court house.

~Traffic laws will still be enforced for offenses of excessive speed, DUI, and reckless driving. Non-moving violations will be enforced at the deputies discretion. Public safety is always a priority.

We are in constant contact with our Emergency Management Director, County Judge Executive, and Governor Beshear's office. We assure everyone that we are doing our part during this time and we strive to provide uninterrupted service to our county.
