CASEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT REPORT

 

The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.

 

Dwight Coffman was appointed to the Ethics Board to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Denny Johnson. Coffman’s term will expire in 2023.

 

Under General Business, the Court had a 2nd Reading & Adoption of 2 amendments to the Budget. The first totaling just over $655,700, and the second for just under $152,600. The Court also voted to accept excess fees from the Sheriff’s Department in the amount of just under $35,000.

 

Under Road Business, the Court declared some equipment as Surplus Property. A salt spreader, to be destroyed, and 2 Loaders that will be advertised for bids.

 

The Court met in an Emergency Meeting Friday, closing the Central Ky Ag Center to all activities for the next 30 days in concern over the COVID 19/Corona Virus.

Judge Executive Randy Dial says the Court has an Emergency Plan in place…

 

 

Judge Dial also mentioned that he would most likely declare a State of Emergency for Casey County, but that is not cause for alarm. The declaration would be necessary for the County to access Federal funds.

 

Extra health precautions are also in place at all County facilities, including the Jail, Judicial Center, and the Courthouse, where you must now enter through the back door, and those offices are being limited to only one person per office at a time. There are currently 21 cases of Corona Virus in Kentucky, but no confirmed cases in Casey County, or the Lake Cumberland Health District.

The next regular meeting of the Casey County Fiscal Court will be April 6th.
