The Casey County Fiscal Court met in emergency session Friday morning to discuss a plan of action in response to the Covid-19 threat. 

Casey County Judge Executive, Randy Dial, tells WKDO News, per recommendations from the Governor, and following the lead of Local, State and Federal agencies, a local plan was adopted.

Effective immediately, all activities at Gateway Park and the Central KY Ag/Expo Center are suspended. 

The situation will be re-evaluated April 20th.  

Citizens should not be alarmed. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of the virus in Casey County, or the Lake Cumberland Area. This plan is a proactive approach to minimize the risk of exposure, and lessen the threat to the health and safety of the citizens of Casey County and the surrounding area. 

Dial says they will continue to monitor the situation and re-evaluate as needed.
