There is a Statewide tornado drill schedule this morning as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Sirens across the Commonwealth will sound at approximately 10:07 a.m. this morning. It's the sound you would hear if there was a real tornado warning but this is just a test. Emergency managers ask that you DO NOT call 9-1-1 about this siren test.

All schools, government facilities, and the general public are encouraged to participate. This is great time to go over your plan in case you were ever to get caught in a tornado situation. Be sure your plan includes what to do before, during, and after a tornado, emergency contact list, safety kit, and talk about your safe places.

This is also a good time to change out the batteries in your smoke detector.
