CASEY COUNTY FISCAL COURT REPORT

 

The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.

 

Under General Business, the Court voted to approve the Sheriff’s Advancement, as well as a motion to give Judge Executive Randy Dial the power to issue purchase orders up to $30,000.

 

A group of about 25-30 citizens attended yesterday’s meeting to thank the Court for passing a resolution in support of 2nd Amendment rights in our county.

 

2 magistrates voted against the resolution. One of those was Cecil Roy, who represents the 1st District. Roy explained his vote was due to the word “Sanctuary,” which as pointed out by County Attorney, Tommy Weddle, may have a negative connotation…

County Attorney, Tommy Weddle, expressed his support of the 2nd Amendment, but his one issue with the resolution was the word sanctuary…

 

 

One citizen explained the reasoning behind the strong local support for the right to bear arms…

 

 

With declaring Casey County as a Sanctuary County, there was some concern that it may affect State and Federal funding that benefits our local infrastructure.

The next regular meeting of the Casey County Fiscal Court is scheduled for Feb. 3rd.
