PULASKI MURDER SUSPECT TAKES OWN LIFE AS DEPUTIES CLOSE IN

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, a Eubank, Kentucky man took his own life when Law Enforcement Officers attempted to serve him with a Murder Warrant on January 8, 2020.

Bobby E. Eldridge, age 33 of Old Cuba Road was pronounced dead by Pulaski County Coroner Clyde Strunk at approximately 5 PM Wednesday afternoon from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Eldridge was being sought on a Pulaski County District Court Warrant for Murder-Domestic Violence for the murder of Donna Eldridge in October of 2019.

On October 27th, Deputies responded to 2330 Old Cuba Road in Eubank, Kentucky for a call of a medical emergency. Upon arrival at the residence, Deputies found Donna Eldridge deceased from a gunshot to the head. Bobby Eldridge was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The investigation into the death of Donna Eldridge by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff's Office determined that Donna Eldridge had been shot by her husband, Bobby Eldridge who then turned a gun on himself. He was treated and released from the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

As a result of the investigation, a Warrant for Murder was issued on the evening of January 7, 2020.

Sheriff Speck, along with Deputies from the Sheriff's Office, Somerset Police Officers, Troopers from the London Post of the KSP and members of the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team located Bobby Eldridge in a motel room near the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 80 on January, 8, 2020.

Several attempts were made to contact Bobby Eldridge without response from the suspect. Members of the KSP Special Response Team heard sounds from the motel room that caused them concern for the safety of individuals inside. The door was breached and electronic surveillance devices were deployed that detected that the suspect was suffering from a self inflicted gunshot. EMS personnel, who had been on standby near the scene, were immediately summoned to the room. Shortly thereafter, the Coroner's Office was notified.

Bobby Eldridge's body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

The investigation continues by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office and the Pulaski County Coroner's Office.
