The Liberty City Council met in a special called session Tuesday to discuss garbage collection.
The City's newest garbage truck has been out of service, the older back-up unit has also suffered a break-down, forcing them to rent a truck.
Councilman Micah Meece asked Mayor Steven Brown for an update...
Councilman Meece made a motion to re-visit the bid from Rumke Sanitation to take over garbage service, however, the Council may have to re-start the process by advertising for bids again.
Some local citizens and business owners were present at yesterday's meeting and voiced their concerns about rates and service policies of a private company.
The motion was tabled until the next meeting, when the City's attorney could be present. That meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9th.
