DISTURBANCE AT A CASEY COUNTY GROCERY STORE LEADS TO METH BUST ON KY 49

The Casey County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call Monday.

The caller stated a female at Atwoods grocery on Highway 49 was standing in the road stripping off her clothes.

Deputy Grider responded to the scene to find 40 year old Karen Turpin standing in the parking lot cursing and causing an alarm.

Turpin exhibited signs of drug use and reportedly told the deputy she had "done a lot of meth that day."

Deputy Grider transported Turpin to the Casey County Jail and reported that as she got out of his Cruiser, she turned in spit on him.

Turpin is charged with Public Intoxication of a Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree, and Assault 3rd Degree of a Police Officer.
