The Casey County Board of Education held a special called meeting Thursday to set the Tax Rate.
Here's Superintendent, Marion Sowders...
Mr. Sowders says, "The 4% tax increase will generate about $77,000 for the district. That money will be designated to implement Senate Bill-1 safe school legislation, which is another unfunded mandate by the state but our highest priority. Senate Bill one requirements will cost the district in excess of approximately $700,000 over the next 3 to 4 years to fully implement.
The Board meets in regular session Monday at 7pm at the Board Annex on North 127.
The meeting is open to the public.
