Sheriff Greg Speck reports that on April 24, 2019 the Criminal Investigation’s Division of the
Pulaski County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into a Sexual Assault and Kidnapping of
an adult female.
The investigation initially led to a District Court Warrant being filed by the Sheriff’s Office against Gerald Avalon Hendricks of Science Hill, KY. The warrant charged Hendricks with two counts of Kidnapping an Adult and one count of Rape, 1st Degree.
On June 19, 2019 the warrant was served on Hendricks by Sergeant Kyle Wilson and Hendricks was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
The investigation continued by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), led by Lieutenant
Bobby Jones, the Commander of CID.
On August 7, 2019, Lieutenant Jones appeared before the Pulaski County Grand Jury to present
this case and his office’s investigation. As a result, multiple indictments were returned for the
above charges as well as additional charges.
On August 8, 2019, Deputy Steven Alexander served multiple indictments on Gerald Avalon
Hendricks. The indictments were served at the Pulaski County Detention Center. The charges
are as follows:
• Rape 1st Degree, Sodomy, 1st Degree and Kidnapping – Adult
• Rape, 1
st Degree, Kidnapping – Adult
• Rape 1st Degree, two counts of Kidnapping – Adult (two victims of Kidnapping in this
charge – one of the victim’s in this case did not allege Rape (This was the initial District
Court Warrant)
Hendricks remains lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center under a $300,000 cash or
property bond. He is scheduled to appear in Pulaski Circuit Court on August 15, 2019 for
Arraignment.
The case remains under investigation by Lieutenant Bobby Jones and the Criminal Investigations
Division.
