The Adair County Food Pantry will have their annual "Fish Fry" fundraiser on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 10:30am-2:00pmCT. They will also have BBQ. The cost is $10.00 per meal., The food pantry is located at 203 S Monroe St., Columbia, KY.
COLUMBIA, KY (04/24/2026) The Lindsey Wilson University Singers will join forces with the Somerset Big Band for an evening celebrating the timeless music of the Great American Songbook.
The Somerset Big Band, founded in 2016, is a 21-member ensemble made up of professional musicians and community members from central and eastern Kentucky. The group performs traditional big band jazz and new compositions at festivals, community events and concerts throughout the region.
The ensembles will perform at 8pmET/7pmCT on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville St., Columbia.
At the April 28 concert, the 35-member Lindsey Wilson Singers will perform a mix of songs with jazz-infused harmonies from the American Songbook, which generally refers to popular songs and jazz compositions from the 1920s through the 1960s.
Some of the selections scheduled to be performed include Fisher, Shay and Goodwin's "When You're Smilin'," Bart Howard's "Fly Me to the Moon," and Jones and Kahn's "What'll I Do."
The April 28 concert at Columbia United Methodist Church will also serve as a preview for the Lindsey Wilson Singers as they prepare for their annual spring tour. Following the university's spring commencement on May 1-2, the Lindsey Wilson Singers will perform in Michigan, with stops in Holland and Mackinac Island.

The annual Wilkerson Cemetery meeting will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in the white garage next to the cemetery on Hwy E80 in Russell Springs, KY.
The Grab Fire Dept. will have an open house, dinner, and meet the candidates event on Saturday, May 9th at 5pm central time. The fire department is located at 369 Grab Rd, Greensburg, KY.
T.J. Health Columbia will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, April 28th at noon at T.J. Health Columbia, 901 Wellness Way, Columbia.

The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its second annual Chamber Crawl 5K, Fun Run/Walk (or Crawl), Saturday, May 2, 2026, 8:00am at Adair County High School Football Field Track and presented by Title Sponsor, TJ Health Columbia. Last year’s event was so much fun and we are looking forwards to an even bigger and better event this year!
This fun run/walk is open to all ages but all participants MUST be registered through RunSignup which includes the liability form. Registration is $30 and if completed by April 15, includes event T-shirt, Goody Bag and Chipped Bib Number. (You can register until time of the race but we cannot guarantee a T-shirt or Goody Bag for late registration).
We are really excited this year to have Rocket Power Brand Company helping with the event. Rocket Power Brand brings a sought after, professional experience that includes a digital Start/Finish Line, chipped bibs that display digitally and accurately participants finish time. The football field video board will also be utilized to show finishing times and to highlight our wonderful sponsors for this year’s Fun Run/Walk.
The race will begin and end at the Football Field Track and wind through our beautiful school campus. Once the race begins, no vehicles will be allowed so our runners and walkers mayexperience a safe course for the race.
The overall male and female winner will receive a First-Place plaque and will not be eligible for age group medallion winners. First-Place male and female medallions will be awarded to the male and female winner in each age group division of 12 & Under; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & Over. Other prizes will be drawn randomly. Strollers are allowed but will start in the back. Dogs or other pets are NOT allowed in the race nor on the premises.

RCMS YSC will be hosting Reality Town on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Russell County Auditorium Natatorium Complex lobby. Reality Town is from 8:00am-2pmCT. All volunteers will need to arrive by 7:30amCT. This event is for 8th grade students only. Lunch will be provided. Tables & chairs will also be provided. You can bring items to give away if you want, but you don't have to do this either. There will be approx. 200 students who participate.
