Though spring has officially arrived, the American Red Cross blood supply is still recovering from severe winter storms in March. Donors of all blood types are urged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives.
Winter weather in parts of the country forced more than 270 blood drives to cancel, resulting in over 9,500 uncollected blood and platelet donations in the first two weeks of March. No matter the weather, the need for blood to help cancer patients, those undergoing surgeries, trauma patients and others remains.
Volunteer blood donors from across the country are needed to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients this spring. Make an appointment to donate blood by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

J. O. Y. Ministries is excited to partner with a local group of volunteers to work on the "Paz Holley Project".
As many in the community are aware, in October of 2017 a local mother of five was murdered. Her brother and his wife have taken in her children. They already had five small children of their own. Since this tragedy took place, many people began to pray for them and a way to help them.
A group of local volunteers joined together in January discussing plans to help the family obtain a home that would accommodate this large family and to take that burden of a having a roof over their heads off their shoulders. We are in the process of acquiring some property to build a new home or purchasing an already existing home that can be renovated to meet their needs. A goal of $100,000 to complete the project has been set.
If you or your church would like to donate, please send your donations in the form of check to: J. O. Y. Ministries, P.O. Box 114, Columbia, KY 42728. Please indicate in the memo line "Paz Holley Project." All donations are tax deductible.
For more information, contact: Rick Wilson at 270-378-1490, Troy Grider at 270-250-3523 OR Robin Lewis at 270-250-5299.
