Campbellsville Elementary School will host a preschool early registration event on Tuesday, May 29, and Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Registration will be at the CES campus on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9amET till noon and on Wednesday, May 30, from 1 to 4pmET. Enrollment packets and school information will be available for parents. After completing registration, assessment screenings will be scheduled. Registration will be open to all 3- and 4-year-olds. All children who live within the Campbellsville Independent Schools boundaries are eligible to apply. Information will also be available for parents of children who will have their third birthday after school begins in August.All required preschool qualifications must be met for enrollment. Campbellsville High School boys’ basketball coaches will host their annual “Hoop It Up” basketball clinic on June 11-14 at the CHS gym. The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon each day at CHS and is for students entering first through eighth grades this fall. At the clinic, participants will learn fundamentals and compete in shooting and fundamental contests and three-on-three and five-on-five play. Players will be grouped according to size, grade and age. CHS head coach Tim Davis and assistant coaches Will Griffin and Cody Wills will teach players discipline and a hard work ethic. Registration will cost $50 through June 1. After that date, the cost is $60. Players from the same family will receive a $5 discount per player. Each player will receive a t-shirt and outdoor basketball. All registration forms are due by June 8. Campbellsville High School baseball team will host a youth camp on June 4-6, 2018. The camp is for any child ages 8 to 12, and will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the CHS baseball field. Campers will learn fundamentals such as hitting, throwing, infield and outfield play and base running. CHS baseball head coach Blake Milby and his staff members will host the camp, along with CHS players. Cost is $50. Campers will receive a t-shirt. Checks should be written to Lynn Kearney. Russell Springs Elementary School will be holding registration for ALL incoming Kindergartners on May 22, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students must be turning 5 before August 1, 2018 and students will come with their parents to registration as there will be a screening at this time. The Kentucky State Police are taking a walk on the wild side this year to support their Trooper Island Camp for underprivileged children. The agency is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a new 2018 Dodge Charger R/T 392 ScatPack, a four-door, 5-passenger ride that combines legendary muscle car heritage with safety and comfort features suitable for family duty.
 
Tickets are $10 each and are available at any KSP post or CVE region office located throughout the state. Tickets can also be purchased online by debit or credit card payment at TrooperIsland.org. They can be purchased at the KSP booth at the Farm Machinery Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center February 14-17 as well. Only 20,000 tickets will be sold. The winning ticket will be drawn on August 26, 2018 at the Kentucky State Fair. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawing to win.
