The Food Pantry is open the third Thursday of each month 10am-12pmCT for those in need of food. The next Food Pantry will be on Thursday, July 19, 2018.

Shannon Trimboli will speak on the topic, "Planting for Honey Bees and Other Pollinators," at the Adair County Garden Club's Thursday, June 28, 2018 meeting, 1pm-2pmCT, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. The meeting is free and open to the public, especially those who would like to become members of the Adair County Garden Club.
Shannon Trimboli is a wildlife biologist, educator, beekeeper, farmer, public speaker and artist. In addition to her work with bees and other pollinators, Shannon has established an online citizen science project studying bat behaviors. She owns Grassy Roads Farm, and Busy Bee Nursery & Consulting in Barren County, KY. She will discuss what things need to be considered when planting for different pollinators, including why some plants attract certain pollinators and not others.
Children who need a free breakfast and lunch this summer can come to Campbellsville Independent Schools.
CIS began its Summer Feeding Program on Monday, June 4, 2018. In the program, meals will be provided to all children younger than 19 for free. The meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, at Campbellsville Elementary School cafeteria. Meals will be served Monday-Friday, through June 29, 2018. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Lake Cumberland Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan annual maintenance meeting will be conducted on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 9amCT, at the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, 2384 Lakeway Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
The meeting offers an opportunity for jurisdictions to make additions and/or provide updates to the current Hazard Mitigation Plan, which can be viewed at lcadd.org/hazard-mitigation-plan.
The geographic scope of the Lake Cumberland Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan includes 14 incorporated cities and all unincorporated land within Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Pulaski, McCreary, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne counties.
The Plan, which is submitted to FEMA for approval every five years, forms the foundation for long-term strategies to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction and repeated damage.

Campbellsville middle and high school football coaches will host a Football Camp on July 16-18, 2018 at the CHS practice football field. The camp will be from 10am-12:30pmET each day and is for anyone entering first through eighth grade this fall. Cost is $25. Campers will learn football fundamentals for offensive and defensive positions. Each participant will receive a free T-shirt. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, at the practice football field. The Kentucky State Police are taking a walk on the wild side this year to support their Trooper Island Camp for underprivileged children. The agency is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a new 2018 Dodge Charger R/T 392 ScatPack, a four-door, 5-passenger ride that combines legendary muscle car heritage with safety and comfort features suitable for family duty.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at any KSP post or CVE region office located throughout the state. Tickets can also be purchased online by debit or credit card payment at TrooperIsland.org. They can be purchased at the KSP booth at the Farm Machinery Show at the Kentucky Exposition Center February 14-17 as well. Only 20,000 tickets will be sold.
